Wendy Bold is known for helping business owners, professionals and organisations to use marketing to grow their businesses.
Involved in marketing for over 30 years, the past 20 in her own consulting firm, Wendy has worked with a very broad cross section of businesses – fine arts and fine foods, motor vehicles and luxury trike motor cycles, dietetics and doctors. During this time, she developed a special interest in businesses with technical, financial and at times, scientific backgrounds – clients who often feel most challenged by marketing.
It’s an interesting connection as Wendy’s strength lays with words and she has an eye for design, but she also has a fascination with technical concepts and a genuine interest in helping clients communicate the value of complicated products and services.
She is a strong communicator. A listener who is capable of deciphering complexity and converting it into messages that resonates with their intended audiences.
It’s therefore not surprising that her client list is well represented by financial advisers, accountants and engineers for whom she and her team prepare relationship marketing programs and campaigns.
These campaigns strive to engage non-technical audiences and include a mechanism for measurement, the latter an essential ingredient for all clients, but particularly technically-minded clients who value hard facts and marketing performance evidence.
The model, which is underpinned by a 7-step do-it-for-me-marketing framework, was initially developed for financial services clients and following successful trials now underpins the marketing function for businesses across Australia. It is a concept and marketing philosophy that Wendy presents at conferences and is the topic of her book “Accountable Marketing – Spin Free, Do-able Marketing for Accountants & Financial Advisers”.
Wendy brings depth and breadth of experience, offering marketing advice and a hands-on approach while leading a team of talented professionals. Together, they are responsible for creating brands and marketing tools that include websites, professional profiles, business brochures, case studies and appropriately designed marketing collateral necessary for communicating key messages which generate enquiries and develop leads for clients to follow-up.
Since establishing Bold! Marketing Communication in 1996, Wendy has earned a strong reputation for efficiently delivering innovative, but manageable relationship marketing resources that live up to her mantra of “creatively practical solutions”.
Most people are surprised to know that Wendy collects teapots. She doesn’t mind the odd cuppa but she’s hardly tea-totaled. Her 80-strong collection of teapots is purely the outcome of many years of birthdays and Mother’s Day gifts, a tradition that began when her now adult children were very small. Suffice to say, every treasured teapot has a story.
Married to Greg, the pair are empty-nesters who have travel back on their agenda. While BC (before children) she and Greg, spent time in Europe; as a family they explored various island resorts and the United States. As a couple again, Asia is firmly on their itinerary.
